1 STERILISED LIQUID CULTURE 300ML JAR WITH AIR SPACE

£19.99

Pre-sterilised and containing Liquid Culture nutrient solution.
Now complete with aluminium foil layer to garuntee your liquid culture arrives sterile and stays sterile.
All you need to do is add your agar wedge to this jar.
Incubate at 25-26degC and shake well every day.

The mycelium on the agar wedge will grow into the nutrient solution and flourish. The jar is ready to use when you have at least 50% coverage. Liquid culture will colonise a lot faster than spores as you do not have to wait for the spores to germinate.
Using agar, it is also possible to select good strong isolates. Adding a section to the Liquid culture jar allows you to multiply the amount you have and makes it into a form that you can easily suck out with a syringe and inject into bags or jars.
It is also possible to directly inject spore solution into this jar to make liquid cultures but the author does not recommend this. Germinating spores on agar in a petri dish to check the sample is clean is all ways advised.
To remove the solution wipe the port with an alcohol swab.
Using a new 14-16g needle, penetrate the centre of the injection port. Suck up required amount.
14-16g needles are needed to suck up the chunkier Liquid culture. Although the Injection port is self sealing, adding a piece of micro pore tape will secure your jar whilst your store it in the fridge 2-8degc.
Before use. It is a good idea to test the Liquid Culture in a Petri Dish or Jar containing agar. Incubate 25-26c

Good Luck
