Professor Dave MacIver
Professor Dave MacIver has been involved in the martial arts since 1967 (Sioux Lookout Judo) and is currently a 7th Degree Black Belt in the Ninja-Ryu style of Canadian Jiu-Jitsu. As well as Jiu-Jitsu he has studied Shorinji-Ryu, Shotokan, Chito-Ryu, Zen Karate, Judo, and Pekiti-Tirsia Kali. Sensei Dave is currently a member of the Canadian Ninja Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt Fellowship (CNJJBBF) and studies under the tutelage of Professor Gerry Marshall.
Dave MacIver is a professional army officer who has served over 33 years in the Canadian Forces. He has worked in various military capacities throughout his career and some of his foreign operational & training tours have included; the Caribbean Basin, United Kingdom, Malaysia, Syria, Israel, Lebanon, Cyprus, Sierra Leone & Guinea West Africa, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro and South & Central Bosnia.
Sensei Dave has been teaching both the martial arts and unarmed combat for many years. He has conducted numerous fighting/grappling seminars across the country and internationally. Some of these Groups have included units within the Canadian Forces such as: 3rd Battalion Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, Canadian Airborne Signal Squadron, 2 Commando Canadian Airborne, 1 Canadian Signal Regiment, 1 Canadian Division Headquarters (HQ); foreign military groups such as 1 / 75 th US Army Rangers, 1 st Special Forces Group HQ, and 35th (Airborne) Signal Brigade HQ; various police and civilian organizations.
Sensei Dave has always endeavored to expand his personal knowledge of the Martial Arts. He is currently training in Ottawa, Canada.
