Qatar’s Khadija Gassama claimed the title of girls under 18 years event at the Third QTF Junior Open Tournament concluded at the Khalifa Tennis and Squash Complex yesterday.
In the final match, Khadija Gassama defeated Janna Al Sheikh to hoist the trophy.
The medal ceremony was attended by Tareq Zainal, Secretary General of the Qatar Tennis, Squash and Badminton Federation and the players families.
Arthur O’Sullivan took the first place in boys under 18 years event after beating James O’Sullivan in the final match.
Dana Khalifa claimed the title of girls under 14 years event following her victory over Dana Al Sheikh in the final match.
In boys under 14 years event, Seif Elkadim clinched the first place while Adham Elkadim finished second.
Qatar’s Dorsaf Al Thani defeated Eva Savineau to win girls under 12 years event while David Raducan took the first place in boys event after beating Tameem Samara in the final match.
In girls green ball event, Lina Khamzina hoisted the trophy following her victory over Zenab Al Mutawa while Mohammed Samara won boys green ball event after beating Abdulrahman Alneama in the final match.
Jawaher Gassama took the first place in girls orange ball after defeating Shama Al Thani in the final match while Gabriel Dervis Uzunel clinched the title of boys orange ball event following his final match victory over Ghanim Al Mahmoud.
For his part, Adnan Zarzour hoisted the trophy of boys red ball event while Abdallah Al Kibeisi finished second.
Tareq Zainal, Secretary General of the Qatar Tennis, Squash and Badminton Federation congratulated the winners and wished them all the best in the upcoming events.
Zainal also stressed that the QTF calendar of events in 2023 will feature local, regional and international events for all age groups as promoting tennis in the state of Qatar is one of the major priorities of the QTF.
