Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) has been around for over 25 years and is being used more since the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Mediation and other forms of dispute resolution methods have had to pivot from meeting face-to-face meetings Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), such as computers, telephone, and software programs.

Online mediation or remote mediation is where the parties adopt technologies such as Zoom, Webex or MS Teams video platforms. Remote mediation can also be conducted via telephone.
