About Us

I was born in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1951.

When I was 10, I received a Kodak Brownie Box Camera for my birthday. This, combined with my parents being keen amateur cinematographers, sparked my interest in photography at an early age.

Several years later I travelled to the ancient cities of Athens and Rome, I borrowed a Nikon film camera, and this cemented my passion for photography.

Some years later again, I purchased one of the earliest digital cameras made by Kodak, and this was my introduction to digital photography.

Nature and Wildlife photography presents me with many challenges, because animals and birds are unpredictable. Understanding their behaviour helps in anticipating and preparing for the shot. Knowing your camera and equipment is also critical. Patience, preparation and practice are other important factors needed to capture great wildlife photos.

Other areas of interest to me include Landscape, Seascape, and People in particular Street Photography.

Today I have a range of Nikon cameras and lenses, supplemented with my Mavic II Pro Drone, and Go-Pro. This equipment allows me to cover nearly all aspects of photogreaphy in which my interest lies.

In recent years technology has changed the art of photography significantly. I use software programs to enhance my work where and when necessary. I try not to overdo it. The ability to create new images from existing images or combine and/or adapt images is also possible through technology, the latest form being AI – Artificial Intelligence.

I enjoy this aspect and use it selectively ensuring that my content remains visible and enhanced, and not disguised or shadowed by everchanging technology and software.

I live in Australia now, and in future years, I plan to travel this vast continent with cameras, and hope to capture some of its unique colours and textures, as well as its People.

I continue to travel the world visiting unique places in Africa, the Americas, and the Arctic regions.

I will bring images from these special places to my website where they will be seen, and I hope enjoyed by many.
